Contingency Contract: Guide to Risk Level 8 - Barren Plaza - Daily Stage 7

Event Day 8, Daily Stage 7 - Barren Plaza - Risk Level 8 (June 18)

This guide will step through a strategy for clearing the 7th Daily Stage - Barren Plaza - with Risk Level 8, for June 17.

The main challenges are as follows:

  • Dog rush at the beginning needs to be handled, limiting the amount of time we have to set up initial Operators
  • Casters will patrol around the middle section, have a 2 grid attack range, and hit all operators in adjacent grids to the main target.  This means we need to spread out our Operators to avoid being overwhelmed with damage, especially if there are more than 1.
  • Dog rush towards the end of the map means we have to have high DPS or multi-target/splash to take them all down.
  • There are a mix of high DEF and high RES enemies, meaning mixed damage types and/or debuffs can be very useful.

These are the Contracts I used:

  • The increased range means the Casters will have a very long reach.
  • Increased ATK and increased ASPD means enemies will be hitting much harder.  On top of that, they'll have more HP, taking longer to die.  We'll need good balance of dps, healing, and blocking.

Recommended Team Composition

  • 2 Skill-DP-Recovery Vanguards, V1 and V2, V1 can possibly be Myrtle for a faster start
  • 2 ST Medics, M1 and M2
  • 2 AoE Casters, C1 and C2 (Eyjafjalla or Angelina would likely be good substitutes.  Gitano wrecks this map)
  • 1 Anti-Air Sniper, S1
  • 2 Defenders, D1 and D2
  • 2 Guards, G1 and G2, to assassinate Casters.
  • good backup choices would be a Defender or Guard

Deployment

Unit placement can be seen in the image below, and deployment order should be done exactly as presented.  Each Operator can be placed as soon as there is sufficient DP.

Deployment Order: 

  1. V1: Courier - Skill-DP-Recovery Vanguard
  2. V2: Zima - Skill-DP-Recovery Vanguard
  3. M1: Shining - ST Medic
  4. C1: Gitano - AoE Caster
  5. S1: Platinum - Anti-Air Sniper
  6. M2: Silence - ST Medic
  7. C2: Skyfire - AoE Caster
  8. D1: Cuora - Normal Defender

We are now at full deployment and it should look something like this:

We will then do the following:

  • Retreat V1.  Deploy G1: Franka - Duelist Guard on top of the Caster. Retreat G1 when the Caster is dead
  • Retreat V2 and Deploy D2: Gummy - Healing Defender
  • When the next Caster comes, deploy G2.  Our formation look like this:

  • Use Skills appropriately (especially Gitanos, see companion video for timing details.
  • When only the 2 Casters are left, we might want to retreat a Defender and deploy something else to take the heat off the assassin guard.
