Why is [Endfield] getting censored?
Arknights Endfield released one of its first premiere teasers quite recently, even opening a Discord server for EN players to increase hype. However, it seems that the developers weren't expecting the kind of attention that the teasers would garner for audiences outside of China. The official Discord had to be shut down completely for a time due to rampant NSFW and meme posting with little to no moderation.
In a Weibo post released recently, the developers of Arknights Endfield released a strange message regarding the reactions from the Global community:
"Due to the unexpected reaction from the community, certain visual and story aspects will be altered for the Global versions of the game, and as a result Arknights: Endfield is currently delayed indefinitely.
Thank you for your patience."
The changes mentioned in this post are left rather ambiguous (we'll have to wait for a Twitter post from the official EN account if we want more information), but it is likely this is referring to the censoring of certain rather controversial visuals, particularly regarding the characters and their designs.
