RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ A very tanky defender similar to Cuora and Bison
+ S2: Her niche is that she becomes a high priority enemy target and reflects damage back to attackers as physical damage based on 50% of her DEF stat.
= Compared to others in the same role she has higher Max HP but lower DEF
- Because the reflected damage is physical it is reduced by enemy DEF
- Poor skill up time
Operator Overview
Bubble is the daughter of the strongest warrior in her tribe… and she’s a complete disgrace. She’s known as “Bubble” because just one poke can knock her right over, bursting her like a soap bubble. To be fair to poor Bubble, her life hasn’t been easy: first she contracted Oripathy, then she got bundled off to Rhodes Island for her own safety, and now she has no idea when she might see her father again. Does that justify her rampaging around Rhodes Island, breaking down doors and knocking over the Robots? Well… if nothing else, at least she can put in work as a 4* Normal Defender with ATK debuffs and damage reflection to make up for it.
To protect her fragile body from attack, Bubble carts around a giant spiky shield, which happens to be the source of her Talent. Her Spiked Shield triggers whenever Bubble is attacked, and it inflicts an ATK debuff on anything that damages her. As long as Bubble can survive the first hit from an opponent, she’ll take reduced damage the rest of the time they’re attacking her, greatly enhancing her survivability. Also enhancing her survivability are her Skills. “Beaten Up” is particularly interesting: Bubble stops attacking enemies, she gains an enormous DEF boost and a Taunt buff, and any enemy that attacks her takes Physical damage equal to a percentage of her DEF in return. Considering the DEF buff this Skill gives her, that damage can add up fast! “Beaten Up” gives Bubble a convenient way to retaliate against ranged enemies—it can even be used to kill flying enemies like Raptors—and the damage can be boosted even further with DEF buffs from characters like Shining, Nian, or Aak.
Letting enemies literally kill themselves on Bubble’s spiked shield can be very entertaining, but it’s not a strategy without risks. Bubble isn’t quite as survivable as some of her fellow Normal Defenders: she can’t recover her own HP and she has no protection from Arts damage. Spiked Shield’s ATK debuff is very helpful, but she does have to take at least one attack at full damage before it activates, and “Beaten Up” has poor uptime. She’s also less accessible than fellow 4* Defender Cuora and doesn’t necessarily offer much more in return other than her “Beaten Up” gimmick. Still, don’t dismiss this little troublemaker out of hand. Her battle strategy may be singleminded, but it can be quite potent when aided by a creative Doctor’s placement and timing!
Newbie Tier List Explanation
One of the few Operators to have a "taunt" type ability. Might be useful for you if you are having trouble with deployment order to get enemy aggro on the right units.
Skill Discussion
S2M3 | B- | B- | B- |
The traditional advice with Protectors has been to not waste the resources on Cuora or Bubble, due to a high E1 being more than sufficient. However, their value is steadily increasing as the game evolves. More and more stages demand that bulk, and the higher rarity options are less available than they used to be. It’s still best to prioritize your DPS first, however Bubble can become a valid Mastery option once you get to the point where you are beginning to consider more support oriented options.
The assessment of Bubble’s Masteries is essentially the same as Cuora’s. Cuora has higher DEF as well as the extra block, however, depending on who she is blocking, Bubble can actually be significantly tankier thanks to her ATK reduction Talent. Trying to compare them is ultimately futile though. They perform comparably overall with the differences largely being situational. However, I would lean towards Cuora over Bubble due to Cuora’s extra block, regen, and lower SP cost. Still, Bubble is a very valid option if you prefer her.
Note that the Roguelike grade is specific to IS#4, where blocking is particularly valuable. In the older Roguelike iterations, Protectors are much less valuable.
Base Skill Analysis
Is it worth promoting Bubble to E1 for her RIIC Base skill?
Maybe. This base skill is very similar to the one possessed by Vermeil (and they don't stack). Bubble's potential is higher with E2 Vulcan or Bena (the only Operator skills that gives a capacity increase of over 16 at the time of this writing), but otherwise Vermeil is better. For gameplay purposes, Bubble faces tough competition, especially with Cuora, so most players won't be investing in her for combat. Players should consider the investment if they:
- have E2 Vulcan already, or
- don't have Vermeil AND where using capacity increasing Operators (like Noir Corne) might be better because of a lack of Operators with high productivity bonuses.
but otherwise it will likely not be worth it.
NOTE; if you are using Bubble with Vulcan E2, the third position is best filled by Bena, or if you don't have her, an Operator that gives a higher productivity buff (if enough are available) than a capacity increase buff.

She uses a massive shield as a weapon, relying on charging and bashing tactics. She needs Rhodes Island training to ensure she doesn't make any catastrophic mistakes in actual combat.
Clinical Analysis
Increase Trust to 25.[Cell-Originium Assimilation] 2%
Her left leg shows clear signs of infection.
[Blood Originium-Crystal Density] 0.24u/L
Infection remains mild, but the patient is often uncooperative with treatment, and there is a possibility her situation could worsen.
'I hope we don't get too many more difficult patients like her...'

Increase Trust to 100.Bubble has lots of friends, but she is closest to Ceobe. The two hit it off from the first time they met, and one always goes looking for the other whenever she has free time. As for what they talk about, it's what kids always love to talk about:
'My favorite hero could beat up your favorite hero.'
Bubble doesn't like to study, but that hasn't kept her from learning all kinds of new phrases, techniques, and rhetorical flourishes to describe her own father during her talks with Ceobe. But the funny thing is that no matter how much vocabulary they prepare beforehand, their arguments always descend into: 'I'm big!' 'I'm bigger!' 'I'm way bigger!' Punctuated with exaggerated gestures, such confrontations can last an entire afternoon.
I suppose that's just how kids are.
Looks like they're having fun.
Archive File 3
Increase Trust to 150.Don't underestimate Bubble because of her size. She's trampled robots, crashed through security doors, broken down partition walls, and never once injured herself. Should you ever see her preparing to break into a run, stop her immediately and bring her to the nearest treadmill. Or toss her into the training room, which is the safest and most effective way to deal with a 'Bubble Crisis.'
Bubble also likes to run around the battlefield during combat. Thanks to her man-sized spiked shield, she is impervious to any threat she can charge straight through. But she tends not to consider that she could still be attacked from the side or the rear, and it is necessary to have other operators cover her. Until she is able to fully comply with dispatch or complete her Defender examination, her deployments will be limited to lower threat missions.
Archive File 4
Increase Trust to 200.When other children in the tribe were learning the importance of combat skills, Bubble was rushing around, charging into things. She has far more strength and endurance than children of her same cohort, but combat prowess is more than just strength. In the words of her father: 'This girl will not be a warrior.'
It is perhaps because he recognized this that her father did not permit Bubble to conceal her wounds and carry on with her life, and instead sent her away from the tribe, away from Sargon, and off to a new future of her own making.
'At least here, she can have a happy life.' It's hard to imagine such words came from a fierce tribal Cerato warrior, his body well over two meters tall covered head to toe in tattoos and totems. Not long after that conversation, our newly arrived Bubble came crashing through the reception room door. Her father apologized profusely to the operator on duty, all the while holding the crying Bubble by her ear. An hour later, after the operator saw off Bubble's father, the young girl helped herself to a snack: the leaves of our potted plant.
It seems Bubble has a lot of growing up to do.
Promotion Record
Upgrade to Elite LV2.But Gavial has done it.
Not only can Gavial get Bubble under control, but she has no trouble administering injections to the girl. After attempting to resist Gavial several times, to no avail, Bubble has resigned herself to her fate.
Subsequently, Bubble came to understand Gavial's 'glorious accomplishments' and has since come to worship her.
And Bubble has been more amenable of late.
Thanks, Gavial!
What's more, Bubble has started studying some close combat techniques. When asked why, she replied:
'I want to pound Kay flat!'
We know that when Bubble and Ceobe get into one of their 'My Papa could beat up Vulcan' sessions, they sometimes get too into it and the conflict turns physical. They have never drawn weapons and do not escalate beyond shoving.
In terms of raw power, Bubble is a bit stronger than Ceobe, but Ceobe's extensive experience and conditioned reflexes always put Bubble at a disadvantage, and the noisy little firecracker usually finds herself overwhelmed.
So Bubble started training. And property damage due to Bubble has also enjoyed a significant reduction.
Maybe it won't be long before we can declare 'Bubble Crises' a thing of the past.

Talk 1 | I'm probably only about as big as one of Papa's legs right now, but I'm gonna be as big as him and trample over all the bad guys! Graaagh! |
Talk 2 | I'm really, really sorry! I won't run in the hallways ever again! |
Talk 3 | Fighting is easy. I point my shield one way, and nobody can beat me. Huh? What if they get behind me? Uh oh, why didn't I think of that? |
Talk after Promotion 1 | Gavial? Never heard of her. She's tough? And famous in Sargon? Okay, whatever. I'll see for myself how tough she is. |
Talk after Promotion 2 | Oh, you're talking about Gavial? I'm Gavial's number one fan. See, she even signed my shield for me. That's her autograph! I think, besides Papa, pretty much nobody could take down Gavial. |
Talk after Trust Increase 1 | Doctor, shhh, tell me the truth. Kay says Vulcan can hammer straight through the floor, can she? No? I knew it. That means my Papa is definitely stronger. He could bust down a Rhodes smoke stack with one punch. |
Talk after Trust Increase 2 | Do I really... have to keep writing this...? Fine... 'I knocked over Lancet-2 today. I won't do it again.' |
Talk after Trust Increase 3 | This is my shield. It'll be one of my greaves someday, or maybe a pauldron. Then as long as I'm standing behind you, hehe, nobody'll ever bully you. |
Idle | Doctor, wake up! Somebody's here to see you. |
Onboard | You're the boss of this training camp? And they call you the Doctor? Hrm... But you don't look strong... Whatever. I'm Bubble. I may be the weakest in my tribe right now, but you're gonna train me until I'm the second strongest. |
