During battle, have Heavyrain use Emergency Camouflage a total of 30 times (excluding Support Units) |
Clear Main Theme 2-7 with a 3-star rating; You must deploy your own Heavyrain, and allow no Operators to be defeated |
RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ S1: The skill can potentially give frontline vulnerable units a safeguard to heal up incase they get too low.
+ S2: A very interesting skill that camouflages Heavyrain and all adjacent allies. It's got high potential to be useful against enemies that you're DPS can't normally get near.
- S1: The requirement for allies to be under 50% HP makes it risky against tougher enemies that can burst down your squishy DPS before the effect can go off. The healing offered by this skill is mediocre.
- S2: Your squishy units could become vulnerable if they are not adjacent to Heavyrain when she camouflages, but are still in range of enemy attacks. .
Operator Overview
Heavyrain, the zebra-inspired frontline soldier, can appear shy and retiring when you first talk to her. In actuality, she’s not shy at all—she’s simply bad at expressing herself, especially after she was betrayed by the person she thought was her best friend while fighting in the Sargon army. This betrayal resulted in Heavyrain’s entire unit being massacred, a memory that now fills her with rage and panic when her Rhodes Island allies are put into danger. It’s no surprise that Heavyrain now fights as a 5* Normal Defender focused on protecting allies from ranged attacks with the Camouflage buff.
Right off the bat, Heavyrain’s Striped Camouflage Talent supports adjacent allies by offering some bonus Physical Dodge. Her Skills kick this up to the next level by granting the Camouflage buff, which prevents ranged enemies from targeting the buffed ally (although splash damage aimed at an adjacent target can still hit a Camouflaged Operator). Her S1, Emergency Camouflage, automatically grants Camouflage and minor regeneration to a nearby ally when they fall below 50% HP. The Skill charges quickly and can hold multiple charges, which—if activated on the same Operator—can prolong the duration of the Camouflage buff quite effectively. If multiple allies are in danger, pull out Heavyrain’s S2, Group Camouflage, which grants Camouflage to Heavyrain and any allies in the four adjacent grids (as well as boosting Heavyrain’s HP and DEF for the duration).
The Camouflage buff is powerful, but it has to be used carefully. Heavyrain’s Skills have short durations and both have the potential to Camouflage Heavyrain herself, which can cause issues: if you deployed Heavyrain last so she would attract enemy aggro, but then she Camouflages herself, other allies might be targeted instead of her (even with S2, since it only covers directly adjacent allies). Emergency Camouflage (S1) can even backfire against enemies with splash damage; Heavyrain protects her ally, so the enemy targets Heavyrain, and the splash damage still hits Heavyrain’s ally anyway.
Like real-life zebras, Heavyrain’s stripes aren’t a perfect defense. However, Heavyrain’s capacity to shield Operators from the wrath of enemies--even big bosses like Skullshatterer or Talulah--can buy valuable seconds to unleash a tide-turning Skill like Eyjafjalla’s Volcano or SilverAsh’s Truesilver Slash.
Newbie Tier List Explanation
Interesting as a tech tool. her S1 is considered HP Regen (can heal allies typically not healable), and S2 can be used to protect a group of allies from hard hitting attacks for a short period. However, for use in the typical defender role, she lacks the damage mitigation of others, and camo'ing herself can cause aggro ordering to break down if the player isn't careful and plans for it. New players will typically be better served by a normal defender more geared toward blocking and mitigation. Camoflaguing hersefl can cause the aggro ordering to break down, which could cause issues for those still learning proper deployment/aggro strategies.
Skill Discussion
S2M3 | None |
Note: This unit does not have Mastery grades. This means the unit is generally not one worth spending the resources of Mastery on. However this write-up should help with skill selection, should you want to use the unit regardless.
Camouflage is a very powerful effect, and Heavyrain is the only unit who can grant it to others. That niche isn't always useful or easy to use, so she is ungraded and off-meta, but it can be very fun when it is. Stick with her S2, as it better enables her niche. She’s a solid Protector as well with strong base DEF and HP, both of which are improved with her S2. The latter is quite rare across the whole game. It’s rather niche, but HP tanking is useful to have in reserve and there are very few skills that help with it.
Her S1 has better Mastery gains but is more for aggro management than stealth shenanigans, and aggro management is usually easier to solve by other means such as paying attention to your deploy order. It ends up being a much less valuable consideration.

Increase Trust to 50.The first impression most operators have of Heavyrain is that she is gloomy. In a noisy, crowded environment, she always prefers to stand in the side quietly as though she is completely removed from all the bustling activity.
However, Heavyrain is far from asocial; those who worked with her before can attest to her gentle, attentive personality.
'She just doesn't know how to express herself.'
This is how most operators describe her in their evaluations of Heavyrain, and it is quite an apt description.

Increase Trust to 100.And while most people tend to forget Heavyrain's background as a soldier because of her bashful nature in their daily interactions, the moment she steps on the battlefield, her professional combat training is immediately apparent to any observers. Be it assessing the battlefield or executing the orders she is given, she is capable of carrying out the task on hand well without letting her personal views getting in the way. In Instructor Dobermann's words, 'If you're looking for a professional soldier, look no further than Heavyrain.'
That being said, Heavyrain is far from flawless.
Her shortcoming is particularly noticeable when her allies are injured or otherwise in danger. She becomes fretful and anxious and displays a level of aggressiveness not normally seen in her; this further causes her to lose her calm and ability to analyze her surroundings effectively.
This is not a fatal flaw, as she can usually regain her calm in a relatively short period of time as long as her commanding officer knows how to work with her. Yet the problem still remains. Owing to this, Heavyrain was assigned as a Defender operator by Instructor Dobermann. Furthermore, Instructor Dobermann has requested her to adopt a combat style that is practically entirely foreign to her. That is her main responsibility on the battlefield now—To defend her allies.

Increase Trust to 150.Heavyrain's family is just like any other Sargon family. They are strict, quiet, and depressed.
Soon after she came of age, Heavyrain enlisted in her Lord Ameer's army, going on to achieve many great accomplishments for her Lord Ameer. However, because of her withdrawn personality, she wasn't able to develop a good relationship with most of her fellow soldiers. In the end, there was only a single person who befriended her.
However, during a confrontation with another Lord Ameer, Heavyrain found herself betrayed by her one and only friend. As it turns out, the friend had been planning on using her as a stepping stone to join the enemies.
Her entire squadron was wiped out in a single skirmish while her friend defected to the enemy Lord Ameer with information about their side. She alone was spared only to be used as a scapegoat for the chaos that unfolded.
Because of her aloofness, she was left without any support in the army, and she was almost sentenced to death by the military court, only finding herself spared thanks to the testimony of a survivor who managed to escape.
The betrayal had left her disillusioned, and, in the end, she used her accomplishments in the army to buy herself the opportunity to leave, becoming a mercenary thereafter.
However, the incident has left her even more sensitive than before. As a result, she found herself repeatedly running up the wall, and this eventually led her here to Rhodes Island.
Archive File 4
Increase Trust to 200.She yearns for acknowledgement. The army's oppressive environment has only served to put even more pressure on her, leaving her unsure of how to express herself. At the same time, it has also made her willing to trust anyone who shows her even the tiniest bit of goodwill.
Although Rhodes Island is home to operators with vastly different personalities, many of them are accepting of others. Heavyrain's introversion has hardly kept these operators from forming a friendship with her. Therefore, Heavyrain thinks of every last operator who has shown her a smile as someone she must repay with her very life, which is why she loses control of herself on the battlefield—she cares about them way too much, and she will not tolerate anyone hurting her friends.
Such a cute reason for someone so berserk.
Most of our operators realize that Heavyrain doesn't know how to express herself, but they most likely have never imagined that Heavyrain thinks that, for the kindheartedness they have extended to her, she should naturally repay the favor.
That said, adorable as it may be, we must remember that this mentality is unhealthy. Heavyrain herself knows as well, but she evidently doesn't know how to correct it.
Fortunately, the Doctor is at the top of the list of people whose kindness she must repay.
The time she has spent with the Doctor since her onboarding has clearly left Heavyrain very trustful of, if not outright dependent on, the Doctor, who has undoubtedly already come to understand this aspect of Heavyrain. Surely, the Doctor will be able to guide her on the right path and slowly help her learn to express her emotions and manage her relationships with others.

Upgrade to Elite LV2.Supoosedly, Spot handed her a bottle of water and lent her a comic book when he noticed she was all alone and isolated from her fellow teammates.
Spot has himself noted that he has no recollection of this ever taking place.
'Heh, that happened? Hold up... This comic book thing rings a bell. No wonder I couldn't find it!'
Unfortunately, even though Heavyrain was really fond of the comic book, she later lost it during her time as a mercenary.
Spot didn't seem to care about this at all.
Thanks to this, however, Heavyrain can sometimes be seen in the corner of the break room, enjoying a comic book by herself.
