Hibiscus the Purifier is a 5★ Medic [Incantation], a new archetype that heals allies when attacking enemies. Her kit includes Arts damage amplification and slowing.
Talents and Skills
Archetype: Medic [Incantation]
Trait: Attacks deal Arts damage. When attacking enemies, recover HP to an ally within Attack Range for 50% of the damage dealt.
[Arts Weakening]: Increase Arts damage received by the corresponding percentage (strongest effect takes precedence).
Talent 1: Attacks inflict a certain degree of [Arts Weakening] for several seconds
Skill 1: When skill is activated, increase ATK
Skill 2: When skill is activated, lock-on to two enemies within Attack Range. Within the skill duration, reduce the locked-on targets' Movement Speed and inflict a certain amount of Arts damage to them every second.
First Impressions
Note: These are first impressions and based on conjecture since we don’t know the exact details.
Hibalter will be the first Medic [Incantation] added to the game, a hybrid damage/healing archetype. Her trait, with some small differences, is basically Nightmare's S1 only permanent, or Jaye's S2. Like Jaye, her healing appears to be determined based on the actual damage done rather than her ATK stat like nightmare. This means that against enemies with resistances, she will do less damage and heal less. Her talent applies Arts damage amplification, which will help both her own healing and damage, and the damage of her Arts allies.
Her S1 is a generic ATK increase skill, for a burst increase in her damage and healing. Her second skill attacks up to two targets, reduces movement speed, and deals arts damage overtime. This skill seems to be primarily useful if the multi target slowing is needed.
Since Hibalter is the first member of her archetype, it is difficult to do much guessing about her meta impact, as it will depend a lot on her stats, which will determine her damage and healing potential. An archetype like this will be potentially useful for players in situations where they don't need the full healing power of a healing focused medic, and could use the extra damage support. However, she still has to compete with the existing medics with great support utility (like Warfarin or Ptilopsis), and it is often the case that making strong Ops stronger is better than adding some chip damage on the side. Also, there is no doubt that her damage will not be able to compete with pure damage classes, and often eliminating the threat entirely is better than trying to heal through its damage.
