RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ Near-permanent Camouflage allows for aggressively positioning Lunacub without support
+ Talent provides a meaningful Attack Interval reduction during skill
+ S1 is a potent ATK buff on a fast cycle
+ S2 increases ASPD by enough to rival a Marksman's Attack Interval, and replenishes Camouflage on-kill
- S1 does not refresh her Camouflage, forcing more conservative positioning or skill use
- S2 provides no ATK buff and has a long cycle with bad uptime, greatly limiting potential use cases
- Lunacub is not versatile, she is a dedicated mook slayer and will struggle to fulfil any other duties
Operator Overview
Lunacub was brought to Rhodes Island by Emperor, the leader of Penguin Logistics, who said that Lunacub had done him a favor and he wanted Rhodes Island to take care of her in return. This turned out to have disastrous consequences. The moment Lunacub met Ceobe, no scrap of food in all Rhodes Island was safe. The cafeteria security budget will need to be raised, because Lunacub is a 5* Deadeye Sniper with impenetrable Camouflage, and there isn’t a security system invented that can keep her away from unlawful snack times.
As good as it is for sneaking into food storage, Lunacub’s Wilderness Instinct Talent sees more use on the battlefield. At E1, this Talent gives her Camouflage if she doesn’t have a Skill active, and at E2 it also reduces her attack interval slightly while she does have a Skill active. Her Time to Hunt S1 is a simple ATK buff, while her Umbral Ambush S2 is a large ASPD buff that also reactivates Camouflage for several seconds when Lunacub gets a kill during the Skill duration.
In theory, Lunacub can remain Camouflaged forever as long as she keeps killing targets while Umbral Ambush is active. The issue is getting those kills in the first place. Umbral Ambush’s ASPD buff is very nice, but the lack of an ATK or damage buff makes it difficult for Lunacub to deal significant damage to tougher enemies. In contrast, Time to Hunt has the coveted ATK boost, but removes her ability to Camouflage for its duration. This means that Lunacub can either remain stealthed and kill weak targets, or she can dent high-DEF targets but at the risk of taking retaliation. Neither is completely satisfactory, especially since there are other Snipers that can deal higher damage from more reliable safety.
Lunacub is a capable gatling gun of an Operator when facing low-DEF targets. The combination of Deadeye Sniper base ATK along with her Talent’s attack interval, her S2’s ASPD buff, and her pervasive Camouflage can be useful for assassinating fragile-but-annoying enemies if you lack other options for the job. Her storm of arrows will leave less impact on sturdy bosses and elites, but at least you can rest assured that she is reliable (if perhaps not ideal) in her chosen niche.
Newbie Tier List Explanation
A relatively easy-to-pilot member of her archetype, and the camouflague can make her placement more forgiving, but she is largely inferior to the other members.
Skill Discussion
S2M3 | C | C | C |
Lunacub’s permanent Camouflage can be a decent tool to have access to, but the lack of a damage multiplier on her primary skill is a huge drawback that makes her largely inferior to the other 4 and 5★ Deadeyes. For example, she will only out DPS Firewatch against sub-200 DEF, and only out DPS the much cheaper Ambriel at sub-450 DEF. Considering how both are highly available, and have much more forgiving cycle times, it becomes difficult to recommend any of Lunacub’s Masteries. Still, she is not awful, so if you did want to invest in her, S2 is the clear choice. The Mastery gains on it are sizable and S1 doesn’t work with her Camouflage.

Clinical Analysis
Increase Trust to 25.[Cell-Originium Assimilation] 8%
Operator Lunacub exhibits Originium crystal distribution on her left ankle.
[Blood Originium-Crystal Density] 0.22u/L
Operator Lunacub was not familiar with Oripathy prevention methods and her vitals were not as steady as her outward appearance would suggest. With the intervention of the Medical Department, Lunacub's condition has gradually stabilized. She is willing to listen to doctors, as long as they can find her.

Increase Trust to 50.Lunacub herself didn't hesitate to take Rhodes Island's offer, to the point that I'm not quite sure she knows what a 'job' really is. But when we got to talking about company benefits, she immediately showed some enthusiasm. And she had somehow already figured out where the cafeteria was on the landship, which we can say was a good demonstration of her intelligence gathering abilities.
We didn't have high hopes for her operator exams since, as far as we knew, she'd never received any formal training. But she completed the entire battery with impressive skill, and proudly told the instructors, 'Out there, I learned to use my brain to help the pack solve problems! Agnese always says I'm really smart!'
I don't know who Agnese is, but when it comes to sneaking into the warehouse, Lunacub is plenty smart. And thank goodness she hasn't figured out how our security system works. —Logistics Operator

Increase Trust to 100.She reports living in the wilds with the beasts for as long as she can remember, with her friend Agnese teaching her how to feed herself, how to use a bow and arrow, and how to work with the beasts to lay traps and catch prey. Our investigations reveal that Lunacub did lead a pack that included several types of beast, which is indeed puzzling, as it is rare enough for different beasts to coexist peacefully in a pack, let alone submit to the authority of a human.
Some Rhodes Island researchers suspect her of using some kind of Arts to manipulate them, but she herself denies this. 'If you spend a lot of time with them, you start to understand what they want. They're not complicated.' But observation records suggest that 'getting along' is definitely not as simple as she makes it out to be.
Lunacub often mentions a friend 'Agnese,' who played a very important role in her relationship with the pack. Discussions with her make it clear that Agnese is more of a parental figure than a friend. She consistently claims that Agnese is with her, and there are indeed indications that some kind of presence surrounds Lunacub. But whatever the case may be, we have yet to determine who or what this 'Agnese' is.
[Classified Log]
I spoke to Agnese and we agreed.
It may still be risky to have Projekt Red and Lunacub in the same space, but we have to try. I will do what I can to make sure that Red is stable and that Lunacub is restrained by Agnese's request.
I know that Red went to Siracusa, I know what she did, and this pointless conflict has gone on long enough.

Increase Trust to 150.I saw you talking to the ones who returned from Volsinii, 'Doctor.' I hope that's the right way to address you; it's what everyone else calls you, anyway. You're a clever one, and you're different from most of the others I've met. Your nature is fundamentally different, and I think maybe you can answer my question.
Creatures are often trapped by their nature, both yours and ours. This impulse is sometimes articulated as desire, but in my opinion, this is much more primitive than desire. Desire should at least come from the heart, not from raw, subconscious tendencies. What's even sillier is how some think themselves unblinded by it, claiming that the cravings in their flesh and bones are their own. They take pride and pleasure in it. Yes, I'm talking about Zaaro, the pitiful man.
But I grew bored, and tired. My friends laughed at Emperor, saying he should be belly-sliding across the tundra, as that was his purpose. Just as our purpose is to produce the packmaster of all wolves, and then produce another after a long enough time, and then another after that.
I found Lunacub and raised her. By all rights, she should be my Fang, one who breaks the other Fangs. But the Fangs of a beast don't smile or stare at you with two big eyes and ask you adorably stupid questions. It feels good to be a friend, much nicer than being a master.
I tried to get Lunacub to break free of the path laid for her, but you have to understand that inertia is much more powerful than we ever know. It's like the one you call 'Projekt Red.' You tried hard to influence her, but she struggled to break free. It was the only way she knew how to live. She went back to Siracusa, and your doctor tells me she will return, hopefully.
My desire to find a new life for Lunacub also means that I have to resist the impulses of my nature. But if Emperor can do it, there's no reason I should be less than him.
Maybe you can help us, maybe you know the way. Show me, show me how to shed your instincts, and how to throw off your destiny, 'Doctor.'

Increase Trust to 200.You've already become aware of them, Doctor.
They are mysterious, powerful, barely bound by the laws of nature as we know them, and they are the polar opposite of Originium. Research on them is limited because researchers struggle to find the profound differences between them and us.
No matter how they appear to you, remember that Emperor and the High Priest are not some 'strange-looking Liberi,' Zaaro and Agnese are not some 'ghostly Lupos,' and the one who follows Vina is not some Aslan risen out of history.
They are not beasts, of course, nor are they like unto Kjeragandr, or the shattered fragments from Yan.
I wouldn't say they are more 'base,' as it is not our place to define what is basic, but if we had the ability to glimpse the other side of our lands, we may find them everywhere.
They sometimes call themselves the aristocrats of beasts, though they rule over nothing, that much I can guarantee.
Treat them with caution, and perhaps one day they will reveal to us the deepest secrets of these vast lands.

Now, who would like to join me in approaching Closure about raising the cafeteria security budget? —From the morning meeting minutes of the cafeteria logistics supervisor
It has come to our attention that Lunacub and Ceobe probably obtained the minutes of the meeting through certain channels and are already adapting their plans. The two of them have inexplicably been together for three days, which is not a good sign.
Voice Lines
Appointed as Assistant | Assistant? File Work? Not sure I followed. Anyway, I found a nice-looking mountain with a great view the other day. Want to see it? |
---|---|
Talk 1 | This makes no sense. Why did you build so many walls and corridors? They block your vision. A mad burdenbeast could crash into this little room without any warning, and you don't seem to be a bit conerned. Danger can be prowling at any corner and you must stay on your guard. That's what Agnese taught me. |
Talk 2 | You call the outside 'the wilds', but you can find everything out there. Put in a little effort and you'll find food and water just fine. But in the city, there are no places to hunt. How do you even survive? |
Talk 3 | Um, Doctor, have you ever been to one of those 'parties' Exusiai talks about? They're scary! Those little balls of exploded plant seeds, those sweet, smooth milk puffs! Listen, this is not how you should live... What? They're having another party today? I wanna go. |
Talk after Promotion 1 | Agnese told about a dangerous scent on Rhodes Island, but she and the pack would stay with me. Hmm? You can't see her? But she was just here a moment ago... Maybe she went to go get food? |
Talk after Promotion 2 | The man named Bernardo died, and Zaaro ran back to his territory with his tail between his legs... Seems like the hunt Agnese told us about is in the bag. But still she doesn't look happy. Why? The pack has more than enough food. |
Talk after Trust Increase 1 | Can I get a couple extra sets of Rhodes Island clothes? They're well-made, very warm, make good tents, and you can tear them up for bandages. No? Awww… Then how about the storage depot? I'd like to go and... uhh, take a look around. |
Talk after Trust Increase 2 | Doctor, Agnese spoke highly of you, and told me to learn from your 'cunning.' What does cunning mean? Oh! Is it cunning when you hide here by yourself, eating in secret, not sharing with anyone else? I don't think that's hard to do. |
Talk after Trust Increase 3 | Recently, I've started thinking that maybe life under a roof isn't so bad. Here, you are not a pack, you don't group up and subject yourself to one another. You're, well, something strange... Ugh! It doesn't make any sense! Anyways, I'll stay here a few more days! So get me something good to eat! |
Idle | Asleep? That means nothing for me to do? Agnese, let's go play outside. |
Onboard | Agnese called me Lunacub, so you can call me that too. I heard there's a 'canteen' place here, where you can eat whatever you want. Is that true? Where is it? Can I go there right now? |
Watching Battle Record | Too much trouble! Hunting really isn't that complicated. |
Promotion 1 | A promotion? Does that mean you'll listen to me? How many of these shiny... 'medals' does it take for you to obey me? |
Promotion 2 | Agnese always tells me that humans are dangerous and cunning, their bellies full and hearts wicked, but you've proved you are different. You are allowed to join my pack. |
Added to Squad | I still prefer hunting with my pack. They are much more open than humans. |
Appointed as Squad Leader | Since I'm the luna wolf, you all must listen to me. I'll make it clear first: if I don't see your fangs bared in the hunt, you won't get a share of the kill. |
Depart | How much will we bring back today? |
Begin Operation | The hunt begins. |
Selecting Operator 1 | My fangs are sharp. |
Selecting Operator 2 | Where are the idiots who came to die? |
Deployment 1 | Hurry, the pack and I are waiting. |
Deployment 2 | Patience is key. |
In Battle 1 | Pipe down already! I'm not going to miss! |
In Battle 2 | Take down their packleader! |
In Battle 3 | Drive them into a corner! |
In Battle 4 | Stupid burdenbeast, you're not getting away! |
4-star Result | Good hunt. If you lived in the wild, I'm sure you would survive for long. |
3-star Result | Tired. Already did what you asked me. Can I go eat now? What's on the menu today? |
Sub 3-star Result | Hey! Some of them just got away! Do you even know how to keep the prey surrounded? I'm gonna teach you next time! |
Operation Failure | Grr... Agnese, the hunt failed. Come help us! Don't let this idiot die here! |
Assigned to Facility | I don't like roofs. |
Tap | Don't scare me like that! You wanna die? |
Trust Tap | Hey, Doctor, don't you get tired of staying in these little cubes every day? |
Title | Arknights. |
Greeting | What took you so long? Next time you make me wait for you in a stuffy little box, don't blame me if I get a little rude. |
