Complete a total of 5 battles; You must deploy your own Bison, and unleash Intensified Defense at least 2 times in each battle |
Clear Main Theme 3-7 with a 3-star rating; The only Defender Operator that can be deployed is your own Bison |
RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ Extremely durable Defender that rivals the DEF of Cuora
+ Great when paired with frontline Guards like Astesia to give them a DEF boost (face him away for the buff)
+ One of the few Operators with a "Taunt" Skill
= Considered a sidegrade to Cuora
= The usefulness of "Taunt" is very niche
- High Deployment Cost
- Talent and S2 buffs have restrictive deployment requirements.
- Much more expensive to develop than Cuora who is just as durable, if not more.
Operator Overview
"After getting to know more about the people at Penguin Logistics and talking to them, I began to understand that the world is much broader than I had thought. There's nothing wrong with structure and rules, but they don't necessarily apply to everyone."
As the executive manager of Fengchi Logistics, friendly rival to Penguin Logistics, Bison has responsibilities far beyond those of an ordinary teenager. Though he is very mature and diligent, the inability to roam free as a courier weighs heavily on his heart. This may be why he puts himself in danger to help Rhodes Island as a 5★ Normal Defender. His specialties of protecting nearby allies and Taunting enemies make him one of the more traditional-feeling tanks in Arknights.
Positioning is very important with Bison. His Talent, Cross Cover, gives him extra DEF when he is deployed, but he will also grant the extra DEF to an ally in the space directly behind him if that ally is a Guard or Vanguard. Because Bison can Block-3, he can hold multiple enemies in place, allowing the Guard/ Vanguard behind him to rack up kills safely. (Protip: If you want him to buff a frontline Guard, just face him backward!) He doubles down on this concept with his Skill 2, Entrenchment: Bison stops attacking in order to gain a massive DEF boost, buff the DEF of all adjacent allies, and become a higher-priority target for enemies (in other words, Taunting them). This Skill has decent uptime, and the DEF boost multiplies Bison’s already-high base DEF to ludicrous levels. The Taunt ability of the Skill can also come in handy, especially if Operators get deployed out of order in a fight because you have to change strategies or plug a gap in your lines.
Bison resists physical attacks like a champ, but he’s terribly vulnerable to enemy Casters. His Skills only raise his DEF, he has no base RES, and he has no self-healing through his Talent or Skills, so enemy Arts damage tears him up like a wet paper towel. This can be particularly problematic if you activate his Skill 2 at the wrong time and aggro multiple enemy Casters at once! He’s also hard to put down on the field--not only is his DP cost rather high, but positioning him for maximum efficiency of his Talent and his S2 can be tricky. If you can keep Bison from biting off more than he can chew, however, you’ll have a Defender on your side who will never hide (sorry, bad pun) and does an excellent job of protecting not only himself, but his allies as well.
Newbie Tier List Explanation
An ok Defender, but doesn't do enough to be worth 5* investment costs.
Skill Discussion
S2M3 | None |
The one thing Bison does well is tank, but there's a ton of units who can do the same and offer more utility. As a result, Bison is a matter of personal desire only, and you'll get much more value out of the cheaper Cuora or Bubble. If you insist, I'd suggest S2 for Mastery, which has the bigger impact between his skills, but do note that his one meta appearance in CC#8 involved his S1, due to its shorter windup. That's unlikely to be needed again, though, so invest with caution.
A more fringe use for Bison is helping ranged units survive an Aak S3 buff. There are much better options for this role, but they tend to be higher rarity or limited, so Bison can fill in if you lack those options. He will need S2M3 for this since the DEF buff doesn't increase until M3. However, that is a role that will appeal to very few people.
Base Skill Analysis
Second RIIC Base Skill is gained at E2.
Is the Skill worth the promotion cost? Probably not. Despite being one of the highest Trading Post buffs, there are many other Operators that offer it as well, and who are better or cheaper candidates for promotion. Since you will only be running 1 or 2 Trading Posts, the most you'll be likely to gain is 5% from replacing a 25% buff. The small gain, on top of the fact that he is not a compelling E2 choice from a gameplay perspective (especially with the existence of Cuora), means it will not be worth the expense for most players.

Increase Trust to 50.Despite his age, he gives off an air of reliability. In fact, he has a very rich work experience, and knows the logistics industry like the back of his hand.
However, outsiders often see him as 'the poor whipping boy of Penguin Logistics.'
Compared to Penguin Logistics, whose members are known to all have very distinctive personalities, Bison gives off the impression of being closer to the public's stereotypical transporter, calmly and safely delivering goods and information to the intended destinations.
According to him, cooperating with Penguin Logistics has made him realize his own shortcomings, but at the same time, profoundly shook his understanding of the logistics industry.
Archive File 2
Increase Trust to 100.As a result of this special status, Bison received an elite education at an early age and joined the workforce while many of his peers got to enjoy a carefree childhood. From this, one can imagine why Bison displays such maturity and reliability despite his years, and the hard work that went into that. Bison's addition to MDL undoubtedly paved the foundation for the cooperation between MDL and Rhodes Island. He also temporarily worked in Penguin Logistics, and made invaluable contributions that set the stage for good relationships between the three parties.
It is often said that were it not for Bison's reliability and responsibility in spearheading the logistics industry, some Operators would continue to use the 'Penguin Logistics method' to complete their work. As a result, we must give thanks to Bison for his efforts.
Archive File 3
Increase Trust to 150.However, those who have known him longer will point out that it is not hard to see his more naïve, adolescent side. Though scarcely seen, Bison will unabashedly show his fascination towards the world in the face of the scenery of the North, the Laterano Church, or the wide deserts of Siracusa.
Before his father founded MDL, the young Bison accompanied his father through countless different lands. Perhaps at that time, the desire to become a transporter had already taken root within his heart. However, after the establishment of MDL, more and more responsibilities were piled upon his head, giving him no room to breathe - until he met Penguin Logistics.
'It sounded like an interesting turning point, but after working with them, the gulf between us felt impossible to describe with words.'
Archive File 4
Increase Trust to 200.Exusiai? Hmm... There are many things I'd like to address with her, but she's not going to listen anyway.'
'Texas is their team leader, right? Even though her tendency to snack on junk food could use quite a bit of correction, I hope that she can be a bit more understanding towards her fellow Operators, especially when she's on a mission with Exusiai. Not everyone shares the level of tacit understanding that they do. I've already faced consequences for it. That's why I know it.'
'Croissant... Please put your money in the right places. Thank you!'
'Yes, everyone loves Sora's music. Especially on long trips, music is a transporter's best friend... But why does Mr. Emperor's personal mixtape always come on?'
'Doctor, perhaps you haven't realized this yourself, but the fact that you can unite so many people with very different personalities under one banner is- wait, did a Sankta just walk by? Was that Exusiai? Mr. Emperor had something important he wanted me to inform her about... Gone already? So fast! It couldn't be... Sorry, I'll be right back!'
-Bison's conversation with the Doctor while cleaning up after a heavy metal party
Promotion Record
Upgrade to Elite LV2.There is no doubt that Mr. Eurill is very fond of his son. Ever since Mr. Eurill's wife, Bison's mother, was admitted to Rim Billiton for medical reasons, Mr. Eurill arranged for Bison to enter the company. In the 10-or-so minutes of the meeting, Mr. Eurill's topics virtually all revolved around the topic of his son.
However, Mr. Eurill seems to be very satisfied with Bison's current arrangements with Rhodes Island. For whatever reason, Mr. Eurill seems to have no intention of bringing Bison back to MDL - as a matter of fact, he doesn't even want his son back at his side too early.
The only time was when Mr. Eurill invited Bison to visit his mother, who had only just returned from treatment in Lungmen. The overly formal letter drew a sharp contrast with Mr. Eurill's daily image, making it seem as if this wasn't a family letter at all. However, only after seeing Bison's equally formal reply did everyone realize that yes, like father, like son.
Voice Lines
Appointed as Assistant | Doctor, do you need my help transporting anything? |
---|---|
Talk 1 | This noisy metal music... sounds like Exusiai is throwing another one of her parties again. Doctor, should I go reprimand her? |
Talk 2 | I'm quite good with manual labor. I also know a bit about company management as well. So, Doctor, is there anywhere I can be of use? |
Talk 3 | My parents were the first generation to settle in Lungmen, so I'm actually a Lungmen native... Doctor, if there's anything you'd like to learn about it, I wouldn't mind helping you out. |
Talk after Promotion 1 | Doctor, if you want to know how a real logistics company operates, it'd be best to just ask me directly. Penguin Logistics is more of an exception than the rule, and though I don't mean this in a bad way, they don't have any reference value whatsoever. |
Talk after Promotion 2 | What do I like to do outside of work? Other than just resting, I'll sometimes accompany Croissant on her shopping trips and make sure she doesn't waste too much money... Doctor, do you also want to come along? |
Talk after Trust Increase 1 | I used to believe that for any company to survive in the long run, standardization and efficiency were of critical importance. That's why at first, I couldn't fathom how a company like Penguin Logistics could stay afloat. |
Talk after Trust Increase 2 | After getting to know more about the people at Penguin Logistics and talking to them, I began to understand that the world is much broader than I had thought. There's nothing wrong with structure and rules, but they don't necessarily apply to everyone. |
Talk after Trust Increase 3 | Doctor, perhaps you haven't realized this yourself, but the fact that you can unite so many people with very different personalities under one banner is no simple feat... It'd be great if I could become more like you one day. |
Idle | Doctor... You're taking a nap? I guess it can wait. Guess I'll start tidying up the place first. |
Onboard | Pleased to meet you, Doctor. My name is Bison. According to the terms of our contract, I will now also be a member of Rhodes Island. I look forward to working with you. |
Watching Battle Record | Thank you very much. I will make sure to learn from this. |
Promotion 1 | Thank you very much, Doctor. As long as I put my best foot forward, my hard work will be rewarded. This is what I believe. |
Promotion 2 | At Penguin Logistics and Rhodes Island, I saw a more expansive world than before... Doctor, one day, I will also find my place in this world. |

In Battle 2 | Hang in there a bit longer? Understood. |
In Battle 3 | Don't worry, my shield still holds firm. |

3-star Result | Wow, Doctor... You really are amazing! |
Sub 3-star Result | The basic objectives of the mission have been accomplished. This should be good enough, right? |
