RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ S1: has very consistent uptime and good DPS if you E2 Amiya
+ S2: damage is very strong when paired with ATK buffs
+ S3: very strong boss killing Skill
+ Free Operator with Potential guaranteed through story
- S2 is unreliable with its auto activation and will be very slow to charge without E2
- S3 will forcibly retreat Amiya, making it only usable once on most maps
Operator Overview
“Doctor!”
The de facto protagonist of the Arknights storyline and the player’s most stalwart assistant. For a free unit who is handed to you at the start of the game, Amiya is a surprisingly good 5★ Caster. In fact, she’s one of the better single-target DPS Casters in Arknights.
Amiya’s unique Skills have the damage potential of nuclear bombs, but they also come with repercussions. Spirit Burst fires multiple attacks at random targets for a short time, but Stuns Amiya when the duration ends. The danger is that Spirit Burst is automatically activated, meaning you can’t control when Amiya goes on her rampage or when she becomes Stunned and stops attacking. Chimera, Amiya’s E2 Skill, is even more dramatic: Amiya gains a massive surge of HP and ATK, her range increases, and her attacks ignore DEF and RES. This is excellent for bursting down Elites and Bosses, since it is one of the few sources of “true” damage in Arknights. However, when the Skill duration ends, Amiya retreats from the battlefield, making Chimera a kamikaze move that must be used strategically.
You may notice that the SP cost of Amiya’s Skills are very high. This is compensated by her E2 Talent, Emotional Absorption, which grants bonus SP when Amiya attacks or gets a kill. This also benefits Amiya’s Skill 1, Tactical Chant γ, an attack speed buff with a low SP cost. Players who don’t want the downsides of Spirit Burst or Chimera can keep Tactical Chant γ active through most of a fight due to Emotional Absorption.
Knowing that Amiya can be a double-edged sword may warn some players away from using her at all. However, Amiya’s advantages are worth the risk. Since the game hands the player multiple copies of her throughout Story mode, she is both accessible and easy to increase in Potential. Furthermore, though many other Casters have utility that Amiya lacks, few come close to Amiya in DPS. When you need Arts damage, Amiya is not just the easiest-to-obtain option (you can’t get much easier than free and guaranteed!) but also one of the best.
Potential Tokens
Amiya receives Potential Tokens when completing the following stages: 2-10, 3-8, 4-9, 6-17, 7-18
Newbie Tier List Explanation
Decent damage, but S2 is unusable outside of E2, and she's expensive to raise compared to 3* and 4* options. However, E2 Amiya is eventually required for Ch8, so the investment costs won't be wasted and she is sufficiently strong enough to get you through early and mid game.
Skill Discussion
S2M1 | Breakpoint | |||
S3M3 | A+ | A | A+ |
Amiya’s base Caster form is an interesting unit. We get her for free (obviously) and have to promote her to progress in the story. She’s pretty decent too, which has historically hurt the value of the other 5★ Casters. Given that she is the main character and a required E2 promotion, many would opt to pursue Masteries on her regardless of her power. Lucky for us then that she’s actually incredibly good as well!
True Damage is extremely powerful (and rare) and has grown in value of late. True Damage not only bypasses all DEF and RES, but also bypasses most dodges and damage reductions, which are both common mechanics in recent content. While her total damage and DPS are a touch low, she is the best 5★ Caster simply for how many mechanics she works around. That is something well worth maximizing, though only after more mainline DPS options.
Since Amiya is popular, her other skills are worth a look as well. Her S1 can have ridiculous uptime between her Talent and Module, while her S2 has good DPS without the forced retreat. However, aside from the S2M1 breakpoint, they are luxury options for maximizing our beloved CEO. S1 ultimately has low DPS and the RNG and auto-activated nature of S2 can be extremely frustrating.

Class Conversion Record 1
After succeeding to the throne, Kollam reorganized Kazdel and felt that time in the west had been unkind to the people, so he led some Sarkaz tribes to the east, at which point he vanished from history.
According to legend, Kollam had the power to rout his enemies without fighting. Some accounts say that Kollam's enemies suffered a weight several times that of their normal weapons when facing him in battle, finding themselves physically and mentally defeated. If they were lucky enough to survive, they were often maimed. But some referred to Kollam as an enlightened despot, saying that cuts from his blade drew no blood, and anyone wise enough to retreat would survive.
However, some ancient texts claim that Kollam's saber was destroyed in battle before he even succeeded to the throne, and that the weapon he later wielded was a fragile illusion born of his Arts. Such claims are inconsistent with Kollam's subsequent performance in Sarkaz conflicts, and few can explain why Kollam would not recast his favorite sword under those circumstances. I speculate that Kollam did have the power to shape weapons with Arts, and this theory is centered on the throne. But that Kollam rarely used his Arts in that way, having once been an adventurer.
Of course, it is written that after Kollam's ascension, his saber gave off a greenish light, like a breath of flame. Kollam's famous ferocity led to the blade being dubbed 'Wrathful Cerulean Flame.'
Most of the Sarkaz legends have been lost in the ongoing ruination of Kazdel, which has tremendously impeded historical research. There have been recent calls from Sarkaz scholars to restore their history, but their own research has been poisoned by propagandistic efforts to paint a noble picture of the Sarkaz race.
