During battle, have Chiave use Blazing Wire Stripper a total of 5 times (excluding Support Units) |
Clear Main Theme 1-1 with a 3-star rating; You must deploy your own Chiave, and only 1-star Operators are allowed for the remaining members |
RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ S2: Decent AOE burst that lowers enemy RES and can be used shortly after deployment
+ Some decent synergy with the new 1* Operator Thermal-EX so he can do more on-deploy AOE damage and [Fragile] debuting.
- 1* Operators are extremely situational, even with Chiave's Talent they are hard to justify bringing to more difficult maps.
- S2 has a fairly long CD after its initial use and it is awkward to save the skill for difficult enemies as its tied to his ability to generate DP for the team
Operator Overview
“There’s a saying from Yen that goes: ‘Seize the moment’. Heh, this is very suitable for me. Future? Let Aosta think about this kind of thing.”
From his time spent tinkering as an employee in a Siracusa garage, Chiave has learned a lot about robotics and how to modify technology. From his time as a three-way gang leader with fellow Operators Broca and Aosta, Chiave has learned… well, not much, to be honest. Other than dreaming up crazy new ideas for new kinds of machines, Chiave prefers to think as little as possible, charging forward into the future with relish and abandon. Now part of Rhodes Island, it’s no surprise that this wild-mannered mechanic works as a 5* Skill-DP-Recovery Vanguard—the first person running into every fight—who synergizes with the 1* Robot Operators of the organization.
The secret to Chiave’s success is that he never works alone. His Talent, Technical Expertise, gives him a sizable ATK and DEF boost for every 1* Operator currently deployed on the field and dramatically reduces their redeployment time. A lot of the value in the 1* Robots is the effects they have when deployed (Lancet-2’s healing, Castle-3’s buff, etc.) These effects are typically limited by a very long redeployment time, but with Chiave around, they become much more usable.
This is not to say that Chiave is incapable of fighting on his own—far from it. He has good ATK for a Skill-DP-Recovery Vanguard and the typical DP-generating Charge γ for his Skill 1. His Skill 2, Blazing Wire Stripper, is an AoE explosion that deals Arts damage, reduces the RES of its targets, and instantly generates DP for the team. Charge γ is more efficient for rapid DP gain, but Blazing Wire Stripper applies a valuable RES debuff and has some decent damage potential, especially with the ATK buff Chiave can receive from Technical Expertise.
If you’re not a big fan of the Robot Operators in Arknights, there's little reason to choose Chiave over other Vanguards. If you do like Rhodes Island’s Robots, however, then Chiave suddenly becomes much more attractive. Robots don’t take up deployment slots, so Chiave’s Talent is easy to utilize and the benefits can be quite large. Spam Castle-3’s melee Operator buff! Rain Thermal-EX’s explosions across the field! Dream big—that’s Chiave’s motto!

Skill Discussion
- Redeployment reduction Talent stacks multiplicatively with SilverAsh's.
Notes from Mooncell:
- When Chiave leaves the field, any Redeployment Time reductions that have already been applied will remain in effect.
S2M3 | None |
Note: This unit does not have Mastery grades. This means the unit is generally not one worth spending the resources of Mastery on. However this write-up should help with skill selection, should you want to use the unit regardless.
Chiave is on the cusp of being promoted to the main guide. He finds a lot of niche usage among various gamestyles, however, he just doesn't have quite enough broad appeal given the strength of the Vanguard class in general. If you do play in those niches or personally favor him though, his S2 is by far the better skill and a pretty valuable Mastery. When paired with Bagpipe it gives him a quick activation burst, a strong debuff, and a rare way for Vanguards to deal with drones.

Archive File 1
Increase Trust to 50.'No respect for people or the law.' It is said that these words were used to describe his attitude when he first joined Rhodes Island and met Dr. Kal'tsit. He spent the rest of his first day in the infirmary.
He will do whatever pops up in his mind. Although what he does is often laughable, there seems to be some magic within him that compels others to join him on his absurd antics.
Archive File 2
Increase Trust to 100.According to his own account, he dropped out of school and worked as the employee of a mechanic shop in the city, of course privately participating in some local gang activities.
That is, until he met Aosta. The two struck up a congenial relationship and worked together, later rescuing Broca and recruiting him to join. The three moved together until they were rescued by a nearby Rhodes Island during a chase.
Archive File 3
Increase Trust to 150.Unlike the impression his appearances give to other people, he is quite accomplished within his profession. Whether working directly on modern vehicles or souping them up, he maintains an impressive skillset. As an extension of his interests, he also has some knowledge in electrical appliances.
However, unlike Broca, though Chiave is generally well-liked among other operators, he is often described as 'having a bad rap.'
Because of his tendencies to push the boundaries in all aspects of life and work, he often adds truly head-scratching modifications to the things he's working on. Even when working on other peoples' things, he shows little regard for that and has caused some truly ridiculous outcomes. Now, everyone is a bit more cautious about handing their personal belongings over to him for retrofitting.
Archive File 4
Increase Trust to 200.It must be pointed out that Chiave is not an extraordinarily strong man: he doesn't possess profound strategic wisdom, nor does he have exceptional combat prowess. He is very ordinary in many respects, and the sum of his combat effectiveness can be regarded as average at best. He is prone to flights of fancy, and often does things half-heartedly. To be frank, it would not be surprising if he was found dead in a ditch on the side of the road one day.
However, this is what's astounding about him.
Let's do something a bit dramatic to illustrate the point— Everyone in the room will say 'Chiave? Oh, that arrogant guy.' But without fail, most people will smile and add another sentence — 'But that's just the kind of person he is.' And some of these people will not hesitate to help him when they learn that he is in trouble. This is a good indicator of Chiave's popularity. He always leaves a deep impression upon others that makes it impossible to truly hate him.
Of course, speaking from another angle, if he really was to suddenly leave us prematurely, most people would probably get over it pretty quickly, because 'that's just the kind of person he is.'
That is the contradictory and fascinating person that Chiave is.

---|---|
Talk 1 | Tsk, I need to think of some way to make all the bell peppers disappear from the cafeteria forever. |

Talk 3 | Hey Doctor, don't just sit there all the time. Why don't we have some fun, like remodeling this whole office? |
Talk after Promotion 1 | Aosta once said that I'm not gonna live long like this. At the time I told him, what's the point of living for a long time if I can't do what I want? |
Talk after Promotion 2 | Fight for what you want, snatch up what you like. There's no such thing as 'giving up' in my vocabulary! |
