Defeat a total of 25 enemy ranged units with Firewatch (Firewatch cannot be a Support Unit) |
Clear Main Theme 2-10 with a 3-star rating; a non-Support Firewatch must be deployed during the operation, and Firewatch must defeat Skullshatterer |
RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ Trait: Prioritize attacking lowest DEF unit
+ Talent: ATK boost vs ranged enemies
+ S1: Rare Sniper defensive Skill: Invisible = not targetable and doesn't take damage, perfect for vulnerable deployment to take out ranged threats while protecting her from them. Has great up-time.
+ S2: Great group and high HP enemy killing burst potential
- Typical Archetype drawbacks of High DP Cost and slow Attack Speed
- S2 has a long cooldown and specific targets cannot be chosen, making it less predictable, though planning can mitigate this in some cases.
- Can be annoying if attacking priority causes her to target a lower DEF non-ranged unit, but this is rare.
- Strong for specific uses, but they are not common, and she's not as great for general use
Operator Overview
“My clan, my friends, they all perished in the woods of our hometown... The only ones who mourned them were the trees, which gave unto them their leaves.”
Firewatch's design evokes the trees of a serene, soothing forest, but her participation on the battlefield is a completely different story. This mysterious and vengeful Sniper works for Rhodes Island as a Deadeye Sniper specializing in physical DPS, invisibility, and one-hit burst attacks.
Firewatch's archetype is characterized by an extended attack range and prioritization of the lowest-DEF enemies within range. Combined with her Talent, Assassin, which increases damage against ranged enemies, she can precisely and effectively eliminate ranged threats from a long distance. Sometimes her Archetype's DEF-based attack prioritization causes her to target a non-ranged enemy instead of a ranged enemy (thus losing the Talent bonus), but luckily ranged foes usually have the lowest DEF, so this isn't usually an issue.
Her S1, Camouflage, increases her damage and makes her one of the few Operators in the game that can become Invisible, which makes her not targetable by enemies and immune to all damage, even splash damage. This Skill has incredible up-time and allows Firewatch to be deployed in risky locations to take out dangerous ranged threats safely. This isn't her "flashiest" skill, so it is often underestimated, but this is arguably the more unique and effective role she can offer players.
Her S2 is Tactical Transceiver. When the player activates this Skill, Firewatch drops bombs on random enemies in her range, each dealing massive damage. The bomb damage can overlap, providing great burst potential, and although the precise bomb targets cannot be chosen, the bombs prioritize enemies in her range, giving the player some amount of control through planning. This is the Skill she tends to get attention for, and it's great for taking down high-HP targets or groups of enemies.
Firewatch is a strong Sniper, but her strength comes at a price. Compared to other Sniper archetypes, she has a very slow Attack Speed, a much higher DP Cost, and a targeting priority that makes her unsuitable for Anti-Air needs. Her Skills can be strong in specific situations when used well, but they are typically unexceptional for general use and rarely strong enough to make her a much better choice than other options. Thus, for the average player, Firewatch may not be worth the 5-star development costs, but with appropriate preparation and planning, she can be a deer-ly valuable Operator.
Newbie Tier List Explanation
One of the few Operators that can become Invisible, making her great at taking out ranged threats while protecting from them.Has a good tactical AoE Nuke. Strong in specific use cases, but not so much for general use, meaning new players should avoid early development and wait until later to decide if they want to develop her.
Elite Promotion Discussion
-
The Assassin Talent gets upgraded, giving Firewatch a further 20% increase in damage against ranged enemies.
Skill Discussion
S2M1 | Breakpoint | |||
S1M3 | B | B | B |
Firewatch is a tough unit to use and most people will want to avoid investing into her. But if you do, her S1 is a tremendous skill, with Mastery giving her a big damage boost and a really short cycle time. S2 is a fun skill though and gains a third nuke at the M1 breakpoint so it is definitely worth doing as well.
Module Analysis
Operator Impact: Medium/High
Meta Use: Low
Explanation:Initially, it feels like the extra SP is useless for her S1, which already have a fantastic uptime. In practice, making the criminally short window where Firewatch is vulnerable even shorter has a lot more value than it sounds. If you were to put Firewatch near danger and had S1 to protect her, this module will be amazing. For S2, the module has a higher impact in reducing downtime, but the skill will still requires you to time it carefully. The module simply gives you a larger margin of error, which is great because that 50SP cost can feel really awful at time. The damage module wouldn't be doing much for her because the enemies shouldn't be that far away from her, especially with her S1. And S1 should be her primary use, but with either skill, the module is doing some solid works for her.(for more info see this article)

Increase Trust to 50.Firewatch regards any display of emotion as weakness. And in order to get her revenge, she can never allow herself to become weak.

Increase Trust to 100.The bowstring shakes and the arrow whistles through the air. This is Firewatch's wordless language, like the leaves and the branches rubbing together as the wind blows through the forest.
Firewatch is tight-lipped when it comes to her past. I have not had an opportunity to learn more about her through her stories.
But voices do not make mistakes. Something many people have missed - everyone's got their own unique voice. Some voices come from the throat; others come from the heart.
The voice in Firewatch's heart comes from the forest. Moreover, it comes from the deepest depths of the forest.
Only in the deepest part of the forest can you hear the quiet and yet deafening silence.
Firewatch once said that the people of her race and her friends are all buried there.
Just what has she been through?

Increase Trust to 150.Playing these instruments does not require using much energy. Given that the Elafian people spend all year long in autumnal and wintry climates, this makes these instruments suitable for their way of life. Moreover, it only takes one musician to send the whole room into an emotional state of joy or sorrow.
Sometimes, Firewatch will sit alone upon a bridge and play her harmonica. Each time she does this, she sits facing the north.
Whenever I hear that harmonica and its mellifluous yet sad voice upon the wind, my heart follows as well and drifts towards the mountains and forests of the north.
Archive File 4
Increase Trust to 200.Meteorite, the mercenary, is now Meteorite, Rhodes Island Operator. The first time this bowgun-wielding Sarkaz met Firewatch, the two said nary a word to one another. Now that they are on two separate squads, they never make an effort to communicate.
The two once fought side-by-side, but after the annihilation of Firewatch's hometown, they parted ways. Meeting by chance again at Rhodes Island, they once more fought with one purpose in mind. Whether the events of the past will play out once again is unknown.
For Rhodes Island, no matter what happens in the future, one thing must be avoided at all costs - dangers from within.
However, Rhodes Island does not turn away those who have overcome great difficulty to come here just because of their complicated pasts.
If you've read this far, I'd like to implore you to heed a request I have concerning Firewatch.
Please guide her. Free her of her tethers. Lead her out of the gloomy forest of her past.
Let her heavy desire for vengeance be buried amidst the dead leaves of the autumn.

Paradox Stages
Given suitable assembly, an outstanding sniper can be an even greater force in team combat. This simulated combat will emphasize training her cooperative ability. When teammates block the enemy's forward advance at the right time, Firewatch can snipe a whole squad on her own.
