Operator Overview
“Your false bravado will do nothing to stop my assault.”
Verna, codenamed 'Siege', leader of the Glasgow (a squad of former street punks), has a fierce and reckless battle style. Her natural command, courage, and composure have made her one of the most sought-after Vanguards at Rhodes Island. Siege is a well rounded DP-Recovery and DPS Vanguard that can block 2 enemies.
Fitting of a leader, Siege sports a synergistic kit providing offense, defense and support. Her King of Beasts talent buffs all other Vanguards' Attack and Defense by up to 10%, making her great for starting strong and in battles with multiple Vanguards. Her second talent Crushing gives one SP for each enemy that dies adjacent to Siege, a potentially powerful tool for ramping up DP gain with her first two skills.
Siege has two forms of DP-Recovery. Charge 𝝲 is the standard passive DP-Recovery Skill that provides DP over time. Her second Skill, however, is what makes Siege stand out as the Leader of the Vanguard Pack. Aerial Hammer deals huge physical AoE damage to adjacent enemies and instantly provides 3 DP. With 3 charges at max level, a very low SP cost, and supercharged by her Talent, this is the core of Siege's DPS and DP-Recovery engine and is her most commonly used Skill.
Her 3rd Skill, Skull Crusher, takes the VAN out of Vanguard, and turns Siege into a Guard with a damage buff and a stun, at the cost of an increased Attack Interval. Although it allows her to fare much better against strong enemies, there is no DP Recovery with this Skill, which is generally what Vanguards are relied on to provide.
Siege’s very high HP and Defense stats make her one of the most durable Vanguards, but this also contributes to one of her biggest weaknesses: she has a much higher deployment cost relative to lower rarity operators who fill a similar role. Once deployed, however, Siege is a complete-package Vanguard that provides high DP-Recovery, strong AoE damage, and excellent defense, which will be well worth her higher DP cost. This lion will roar on any battlefield.
Newbie Tier List Explanation
A strong unit in the early/ mid game since she's great at clearing multiple low-DEF targets and is both offensive and defensive. She drops out of the meta in the late game, however. Her S2 requires her to be hitting enemies to generate DP, which sucks for a Vanguard.
Elite Promotion Discussion

3rd Skill - Skull Breaker - Did you ever wish that Siege had skipped the VAN and was just a Guard? Well, this Skill makes it happen. She gains a large multiplicative Attack boost and a decent duration Stun (useful defensively against hard hitting enemies) in exchange for almost doubling her Attack Interval. It has good duration and cooldown and can be used quickly after deployment at high levels. The drawback here is that it has no DP recovery, which is one of the main reasons to use a Vanguard. You don’t like that Siege wants to switch jobs? Complain to the lion.

Talent 2 - Crushing - This is one of the reason to E2 Siege from a Vanguard performance perspective. It gives her an extra Skill Point when an enemy is killed in an adjacent tile. When combined with Skill 2, it can enable some crazy Skill spam and DP gain shenanigans.
- Talent 1 upgrade - King of Beasts - Useful for supporting Vanguard Team memes, but outside of that it’s a fine boost for Vanguards but a low overall impact.

S2 is the key skill for Siege since her S3 doesn't produce any DP. It has a strong breakpoint at M1, and stopping there will be sufficient for most players. Further Mastery only offers some damage and initial SP, so they aren't especially valuable for the cost.
She is a weak pick for the Roguelike mode and for Advanced content, though those intent on using her in those scenarios may want to consider her S3 Masteries. It has the highest consistent attack multiplier among Vanguard skills and can be instantly activated with Bagpipe at M3. However the places it is useful in are quite niche so most players will want to look elsewhere for their investments.

Siege, like all Pioneers, is a competent pick, but one rarely worth the Hope cost. There are ultimately better options for the same costs and no relic truly elevates her to the next level. Worse, she is even less effective than Flametail or Saga and provides no real support to a party.

The Operators at Rhodes Island figured these former Londinium street punks must have fled and were forced to come to the Island, so expectations were low.
But when Siege and her gang underwent physical evaluation, the Operators discovered they weren't common thugs, but remarkably competent soldiers.
The medical staff even expressed doubt about their alleged background, as their incredible fighting skills went far beyond what one would expect from the hardships of the street.
However, Siege's assertion that they really did lead a rather normal life in Londinium rang sincere and true.
Mutual trust is the first step in building a friendship, so the Operators chose to take Siege's word for it. Trust is the foundation upon which Rhodes Island was built, and how she gathered her crew of outstanding Operators.
