Reunion Recruitment Rising!

In the midst of all these recent out of order events (like Halloween in April!), HyperGryph Studios and Yostar surprised us with yet another leak: Recruitable Reunion members.  With social media abuzz on the recent playable enemies in friendly competitor Girls Frontline, we heard in a cursory developer interview (more of an unofficial discord call, really) about the rush to implement playable Reunion Operators.

People Want Playable Enemies

"Holy shit, I guess people really want playable enemies.  Wait, are you quoting me on that?  Don't quote me on that and put it in the article, haha." - HyperGryph Developer Qing Hua Qian, in response to the flood of playable Reunion requests after GFL's Sangvis Capture (Officially called "Protocol Assimilation") recently came out.

Chinese dataminers leaked screenshots and data of the newly released units, except for Mephisto because "No one likes him, get him out of my waifu game."  Unfortunately, said dataminers were banned for using "unfair tools" like changing their system time, and their account names were publicly posted on the Arknights Official Site with their ban duration.

Leaks Galore!

Fortunately, GamePress received a copy of their stats and skills, translated for the community to anticipate, theorycraft, and make videos like "W IS OP AND META CHANGING.EXE" and "FROSTNOVA BEST WAIFU 4-10 SOLO!"

The Banner's name is [Dark Reunion Rising: Day of Reckoning].   The Classes are pretty much as we would expect, with Guard Talulah, Caster Frostnova, Specialist Crownslayer, and Snipers W and Skullshatter.  Their kits look pretty.... well... let's just say interesting.

When we asked resident Youtuber and Fan Video Contest Champion Peacecow for his professional theory-crafting opinion of the gameplay quality of the new Operators he said: "Talulah is OP as f**k." Youtubers Tectone and Dreamy were both stoked about the development, announcing that they would be releasing together a series of collaboration videos on the new Reunion Operators.  We weren't able to get a comment from Tectone, as he was busy meticulously writing out detailed Operator mechanics comparison notes, but Dreamy told us "OMG!  5 WAYS REUNION WILL CHANGE THE META!  NUMBER 3 WILL SHOCK YOU!"  Meanwhile, Youtubers Eckogen and KyoStinV said they would be retiring their 3 Star teams in favor of the incoming Reunion crew.  "Sorry f2pers" they said, "but waifus 4 laifus."

Arknights communities that have shunned Tier Lists up to this point are now scrambling to put them together as quickly as possible.  Personally, if I don't pull Frostnova, I'm quitting.  Check out their kits for yourself on their Operator Pages!

The Rise of Dark Reunion Incoming!

This banner will run as part of the upcoming event titled, "Dark Reunion," featuring a brand-new Co-Op Ranking mode.  Of course, there are no plans to bring Dark Reunion to non-CN Arknights Servers immediately, meaning at least a 6-month wait for disappointed players.  In response, Korean netizens took up (digital) arms and thunderously demanded justice.

"I thought we were accelerating the server?  When will we catch up? I'm expecting extra Orundum for the sake of equality!"  Under the threat of dropping Arknights for the now-independently published and upcoming SinoAlice (and potential SinoAlice players dropping SinoAlice for the new Nier Automata Mobile game before either are released), we expect JP to receive compensation Orundum after KR, much like the delayed launch bonuses.  As usual, EN will receive them last, to coincide with the launch of Arknights TW.

Banner Details

Youtuber community full of manufactured drama as Mephisto is literally cancelled.  Nothing of value was lost that day.

Of course, playable enemies must mean there is another way for HyperGryph to make money aside from increasing the frequency of skins.  Reunion Recruits will be available from Headhunting, but outside of featured banners they will only be in the pool if their corresponding story chapters are cleared.  Except Mephisto, because he is being investigated for battlefield sexual harassment and resource hoarding with the intention of price gouging under crisis. And because HyperGryph figured out they would lose more money and players by putting Mephisto on a banner than appeasing the one Mephisto fan with poor taste out there.  Seriously, even Reunion themselves don't like Mephisto. Dude's a C tier evil-for-the-sake-of-being-evil villain for crying out loud.
