Operator Overview
Texas has always been a woman of mystery. Between her apathetic demeanor and her strong work ethic for Penguin Logistics, she has always given the impression that she has no time for her past, whatever it might be. However, it seems that the past has time for her—a lineage of politicking and backstabbing is coming for Cellinia Texas, the last surviving member of the Texas mafia family, and she’s going to need her full strength to deal with it. Fortunately, as limited 6* Executor Specialist Texas the Omertosa, she has more strength than she knows what to do with, combining high survivability, massive AoE Arts damage, Silence and micro-Stuns, and RES debuffs along with fast redeployment speed into one impossibly nasty Penguin Logistics-labeled package.
Upon release, Texalter sets a whole new standard for the performance of Executor Specialists. The combination of her Talents and Skills creates an Operator with immense damage potential and widespread crowd control who can be dropped all around the field on very short notice. Her E1 Talent is Texas Tradition, which increases her ATK while a Skill is active and causes her to reactivate her equipped Skill when she first defeats an enemy after deployment. Meanwhile, her E2 Texas Sword Arts Talent grants bonus ASPD and damage mitigation before she defeats an enemy, giving her a very strong start for getting that first kill and resetting her Skill duration.
As an Executor Specialist, Texalter’s Skills are passively activated as soon as she is deployed on the field. Her S1, Silent Drizzle, causes her attacks to Silence their targets and deal Arts damage over time. Her S2, Endless Downpour, starts by immediately dealing Arts damage to all nearby enemies and debuffing their RES. Then the Skill causes Texalter’s attacks to hit twice and deal Arts damage, absolutely destroying any targets touched by the initial RES shred. Finally, her S3 is Torrential Sword Rain, which starts with two blasts of AoE Arts damage and a Stun against all nearby enemies, followed by several seconds of reactivated Sword Rains against multiple nearby targets, with each inflicting reduced Arts damage and a shorter-duration Stun. Remember that all of these can have their duration extended by Texas Tradition if she gets at least one kill while the Skill is active!
The closest thing to a limiting factor on Texalter is the way that Executor Specialist Skills activate automatically and cannot be reactivated after their duration ends (even if Texalter gets to bend that last rule with Texas Tradition). It is not advisable to drop Texalter on the field and simply leave her there; she needs to be retreated and redeployed several times in order to make the most of her Skills, which does lead to a necessary cost in time and DP.
Other than that, Texas the Omertosa is an absurdly powerful unit to a degree that cannot be overstated. Her Talents and high Skill modifiers grossly inflate her damage potential, and her micro-Stuns provide an unexpectedly high level of crowd-control (and can even help her to Block enemies by constantly resetting the enemy’s attack animations). And on top of that, she can still do all the same things that other fast-redeploy Operators can do, such as body-blocking a powerful enemy ability or quickly repositioning to deal with spread-out enemy targets.
“Omertosa” is the feminine form of an Italian term for holding back (or “being reticent”) due to a “conspiracy of silence.” Ironically, Texas the Omertosa represents a conspiracy being brought to light rather than being held back in silence… and she herself is certainly not holding back anymore. She’s going to destroy absolutely anything foolish enough to wander into range of her Sword Rains, and no conspiracy—silent or not—is going to be able to stop her now.
Newbie Tier List Explanation
A powerful and versatile unit that is easy to use. A great reactive option for new players to recover from mistakes. A meta-defining endgame unit so a good long-term investment.
Skill Discussion
S3M3 | S++ | S++ | S++ | |
S2M3 | S | S+ | S+ |
Texas the Omertosa is one of the highest graded M6s in this guide. That can be a scary thing for many players due to the extremely high cost of 6★ Masteries. After all, most similarly meta units only have one skill that stands out. However, Texas is one of the top units in the game, and she owes part of that to just how flexible she is between her two best skills. She is absolutely worth the M6 investment for everyone who is using her.
S3 is the higher graded skill here and should be your starting point. While it technically does less single-target damage than S2, it’s still an absurd total, and the utility more than makes up the difference. The sword rains hit multiple targets in a relatively wide area and can even hit aerial enemies. Even better, the microstuns provide tremendous control and can often keep her alive long enough to actually reach her damage potential in dangerous situations, something FRDs typically struggle with. Note also that S3 has particularly important Mastery gains due to the extra target at M3.
On the other hand, S2 does an absurd amount of damage along with a ludicrous amount of RES shred. On paper it can seem like the easier skill to use since it’s more straightforward, but the lack of any stun makes her much more vulnerable when compared to S3. Note that the Mastery gains here are primarily centered on the RES shred. That is important, but it can make the gains “seem” poor. Mastery on S2 is less essential than it is on S3, but it should still be a high priority. That’s just how absurd Texas is.
There isn't much need to invest into S1. While certainly not a terrible skill, it just doesn't compare to her other skills. Why would you need Silence when you can just kill pretty much everything flat out?

Increase Trust to 50.Many were shocked when Texas came to Rhodes Island with the two who would later become Vigil and Penance, as she looked unmistakably Siracusan.
Those who knew her were uneasy about her return to Siracusa. Though it was well-known that she had something to do with the country, no one knew what lay in her past.
Their minds were set at ease by the fact that she was joined by Penguin Logistics members. After all, Texas would be Texas as long as she was with Penguin Logistics.
However, when it was learned what happened to her and Siracusa, and who she had brought to Rhodes Island, a consensus was quickly reached:
Don't mess with Texas.
Archive File 2
Increase Trust to 100.If not for what had happened 7 years ago, she might have become a reticent Lappland, or a cold-blooded Giovanna.
Lappland symbolized hysteria toward Siracusa; she could not face it, but there was nowhere else to go to.
Giovanna represented apprehension toward Columbia; she knew she did not have to do it, but she did not know what else to do.
Texas knows that she would have walked the same paths as them, if she had not run away from it all.
Whenever she came face-to-face with Lappland and Columbia, it filled her with nostalgia, but guilt as well.
That is why she tolerated Lappland's actions, and accepted Giovanna's reproach. She was a Texas, no matter how much she detested everything to do with the family.
She knew the price she paid when she chose to step away from it all.
Was it worth it?
She asked herself this many times, and unsurprisingly was never able to find the answer.
After leaving Columbia and Siracusa, she desperately sought a new life to replace the old one.
For her, life is not about searching for meaning; it was life itself that was worth searching for.
Fortunately, she found what she was looking for.
Archive File 3
Increase Trust to 150.She returned to Lungmen with the other members soon after the events concluded. Penguin Logistics reopened, and there did not seem to be any changes in their lives.
But she also meant her promise to Vigil: she would be there when Nuova Volsinii needs her.
Nuova Volsinii was established with Signora Sicilia's blessing, and thus most of the families have chosen to sit on the sidelines, keeping an eye on developments. However, this is no more than the calm before the storm.
Texas knows this, as do the rest of Penguin Logistics.
At present, the main reason for them to travel between Lungmen and Nuova Volsinii is not so much Texas as Sora.
The success of La Morte di Texas made Sora a star, prompting Monster Siren Records to change its strategy and encourage her to continue her activities in Siracusa. Nuova Volsinii presents an ideal platform for Sora in more ways than one.
It was Sora, then, who has to regularly make the trip to Nuova Volsinii.
Meanwhile, not wishing to let this opportunity go to waste, Croissant approached Bison and is trying to work with MountainDash Logistics and Vigil to build an international logistics route. It is a monumental task, but Croissant seems to enjoy it.
Exusiai, for her part, has made it her mission to try every pizza parlor in Siracusa and find the best.
For now, Texas is the one who is most idle.
She knows, however, that there is something tying them together. They will always be together, whether going forwards or backwards.
Archive File 4
Increase Trust to 200.She has made it clear that she will not stay in Siracusa when all is said and done. She does not want to leave too many traces there, and Vigil respects her decision. He has not interfered with Penguin Logistics's new Nuova Volsinii branch, and there are few among the mafiosi who know where the last Texas went after her brief reappearance in Volsinii.
Of course, things are constantly changing.
The waves that Bernardo stirred have calmed, but the families have begun to stir again. Siracusa's balance teeters on a precipice, leaving precious little time for Nuova Volsinii to grow peacefully.
At the same time, the game that the Signori dei Lupi have played for many years has come to the surface. This round is coming to an end, and the impact it will have on Siracusa is yet unknown.
The only thing that is certain is that change is coming to Siracusa.
Should she claim power, or at least associate herself with it, in the name of the greater good? Texas knows that the answer should be 'yes,' yet she has chosen to distance herself from Vigil and Penance.
Her line of thinking is simple. She does not belong to that greater good; she is simply one of the common folk, who felt outraged out of the goodness of her heart. Her only promise to Vigil was that she would keep fighting, until either Siracusa has changed, or she is no more.
Promotion Record
Upgrade to Elite LV2.He was studying street performance in Columbia, when he smelled the presence of a Signore dei Lupi on Columbian soil, much to his surprise.
He decided to look into it, and found Zaaro dealing with a human—Texas.
'Don't give me that look, Texas. Did you really think we met on that street by chance?'
He became interested in the mortal who was able to deal with a Signore dei Lupi, so he followed her, only to see her doubts and pent-up anger. For a long time, she lived like a walking corpse.
'I learned about what happened to the Texas family, so I thought I'd help you kids out a little. Ain't no time for brooding when your feet are busy, so I founded this joint, and dragged her into it.'
'Huh...'
'What's the matter?'
'Didn't think you had it in you to do something so decent, boss.'
'Hey! I get no respect around here!'
'So Columbia is the reason you like rap?'
'No, I'm the reason Columbia likes rap.'
Voice Lines
Appointed as Assistant | I'm your bodyguard again, just like old times, Doctor. And it's not just a job, it's a reunion. That's something worth cherishing. |
---|---|
Talk 1 | How does it feel to be back in Siracusa? Not great. It's for wise guys and famiglie, not me. I'm only staying long enough to cut ties with the past. After I'm done washing my hands of the whole business, I'm heading back to Lungmen to pick up the girls, and then going out for a nice drive. |
Talk 2 | I didn't want to get Penguin Logistics involved, but it was a relief to see them in Siracusa. My noisy friends, that life of freedom... Looking back now, staying with them in Lungmen was the best decision I ever made. Just, don't tell them I said that. |
Talk 3 | Sometimes I hear Siracusans talking about the downfall of Famiglia Texas. No two versions of the story are the same. Most are pretty dull, and some make for interesting fairytales, but in the end, they're all pretty embellished. The real story is... I just got exhausted, and decided to leave. |
Talk after Promotion 1 | Ever noticed how even the rain here stains the walls outside? Dirty rainwater can't wash anything clean. And that's Siracusa. Siracusans might be used to it, but I'm not. |
Talk after Promotion 2 | I've got no interest in joining Greyhall. The dons sit in their chairs, acting all high and mighty, hiding their plans. I decided to confront Signora Sicilia because she thinks she can tame everyone, and that's one thing I can't stand. |
Talk after Trust Increase 1 | I saw Lappland in Siracusa. Oh, you haven't seen her in a while? Not like she needs anyone worrying about her. If she's over me now, she'll find something else to cut. As for the score we haven't settled, I say it doesn't matter. We'll meet again soon enough. |
Talk after Trust Increase 2 | I was born in Columbia, but my grandfather wanted me to become a proper mafiosa and sent me to Siracusa to learn the trade. But to this day I don't understand why the people here like macaroni so much? I used to go to this little place for macaroni myself, but it closed down a long time ago. The owner died in a back alley. |
Talk after Trust Increase 3 | In Siracusa, there were a whole lot of people trying to guess what I'd do. It wasn't that complicated. I was there to do what I had to do, and help those who deserved help. Doctor, all I ask is that we continue to get along just like we used to. This relationship, built on real trust, is hard to find there. |
Idle | It's quiet here. No hitmen haunting the shadows, no wolves waiting in the alleys. |
Onboard | We meet again, Doctor. The Siracusan rainy season always gets my tail wet, so I prefer the climate here. Don't worry, Exusiai and the girls will keep taking care of the deliveries, but I'll handle any jobs assigned to me personally. |
Watching Battle Record | Thanks. Doesn't seem much different from your average delivery run in Lungmen. |
Promotion 1 | I'm not helping you for the money, Doctor. But still, go ahead and send my salary over to Penguin Logistics as usual. I'll pick it up from Emperor. |
Promotion 2 | I still have a lot to take care of before I can enjoy a peaceful life, and if the only way to shake the past is to smash it to pieces, then that's exactly what I'll do. Simple as that. |
Added to Squad | Order confirmed, crystal clear. |
Appointed as Squad Leader | Alright. Try to keep up. Let me know if you can't. |
Depart | No need to make a scene. |
Begin Operation | Don't leave bloodstains. They're hard to clean. |
Selecting Operator 1 | Moving to designated location. |
Selecting Operator 2 | Need speed to succeed. |
Deployment 1 | Got a problem that needs solving? |
Deployment 2 | I see them. I'll be right back. |
In Battle 1 | Bad luck, you ran into me. |
In Battle 2 | You saw nothing. |
In Battle 3 | Pass on your last words? No. |
In Battle 4 | This will keep you quiet. |
4-star Result | The only way to solve a problem is to clear all the obstacles in the way, no matter what they might be and keep moving. |
3-star Result | A battle without an explosion or cheering makes me feel a little uneasy. Let's head back. A drink? Maybe next time. |
Sub 3-star Result | There's still more to clean. When's our next sweep? |
Operation Failure | I can take out a few more. You go ahead and retreat. |
Assigned to Facility | This place reminds me of Lungmen. It's quiet. Doesn't have the constant pitter patter of the rain. |
Tap | Hey. Stop it. |
Trust Tap | Doctor, where's the hair dryer? I'd like to dry my tail. |
Title | Arknights. |
Greeting | Great, this place is the same as it ever was. Morning. Got any new plans? |
