During battle, deploy April a total of 8 times (excluding Support Units) |
Clear Main Theme 5-3 with a 3-star rating; You must deploy your own April, and have April defeat at least 2 Spec Ops Caster Leaders |
RIIC Base Skills
Quick Evaluation
+ S2: Strong damage boost with a fairly long stealth duration
+ Great for assassinating tricky enemy casters and snipers on difficult maps
- High base DP cost makes redeploying her over and over very expensive
- Her damage isn't quite high enough to deal the most dangerous drones and caster enemies on her own.
Operator Overview
“After contracting Oripathy, I heard some people saying: Why would an Infected wear such colourful clothes, what kind of music would an Infected listen to… Towards this kind of people, my answer will forever be: Because I like it~”
A cheerful, extroverted city girl, April goes out of her way to make the best of her new life as an Infected. She left her home in Rim-Billiton, she decorated her new room at Rhodes Island, and she’s made friends with fellow Operators like Orchid and Utage. From her optimistic, colorful demeanor, you might not guess how she was ostracized in her homeland after becoming Infected, or how she went through a period of deep depression when she first arrived at Rhodes Island. It’s thanks to April’s personal strength that she’s recovered from her inner turmoil and decided to help all Infected as a 5* Anti-Air Sniper of Rhodes Island, with a unique blend of anti-air assassination and Fast-Redeploy characteristics.
How many times have you deployed a Sniper to attack an incoming threat, only to have your newly-deployed Sniper blown immediately off the map by ranged attacks? April is specifically designed to take point in this kind of situation. Her Talent—Experienced Hunter—reduces her redeployment time and, at E2, reduces her DP cost by 1. Since she’s an Anti-Air Sniper, April’s DP cost is already low, so even -1 DP makes a noticeable difference.
Her S2, however, is what really cements April’s strange place as a Fast-Redeploy Sniper. Flexible Camouflage is an on-deployment Skill that temporarily increases April’s ATK and prevents ranged enemies from targeting her! (She’s still vulnerable to splash damage, though, so watch out for that.) Drop her on the field so she can assassinate something with her boosted ATK while staying safe from reprisals, then retreat her when her Camouflage wears off. From there, Experienced Hunter allows you to deploy her again quickly, ATK boost and Camouflage back in place, ready to assassinate a new target.
This certainly gives April an interesting niche among Anti-Air Snipers. However, her approach is not without its flaws. Even with her Talent, April’s redeployment time and DP costs are quite a bit higher than Fast-Redeploy Specialists, and both will really start to add up if you deploy her more than twice on a map. You can choose to ignore these long periods of downtime by sticking to her S1, but this eliminates most of what makes April special, in which case you would be better off using a different Anti-Air Sniper. If you’re the kind of Doctor who likes to react to situations on the fly, however, April can be an excellent investment for your squad.
Newbie Tier List Explanation
She represents a tactical fast-redeploy option in a ranged unit. Can be useful in more challenging content, but not really necessary in early-mid content, so new players are better off waiting to develop her until later
Skill Discussion
S2M3 | S- | S- | S- | |
S1M1 | Breakpoint |
Although the same archtype, April should be considered outside of the other Marksman Sniper's role because the role she fills is quite different.
April is a very powerful unit. She is a rare 5★ unit that holds significant value even in a team full of 6★s, but one that requires a good bit of investment for that power to be realized. Her value is pretty much entirely in her on-deploy S2 and she is dramatically less useful once that skill runs out, so maximizing that skill is vital for her to be as good as she is. It's tough to call April a mandatory unit despite her very strong and unique role, but her Mastery is near mandatory if you intend to raise and use her. The relatively high grade here reflects that.
For more typical Sniper use, S1M1 is a big breakpoint, however the DPS and utility pales in comparison to others of the role. Still, it can be occasionally useful to fill in gaps if your Marksman core is on the weak side for a unit you may want to E2 anyway.

Increase Trust to 25.[Cell-Originium Assimilation] 5%
Some mild crystallization visible on her back.
[Blood Originium-Crystal Density] 0.17u/L
The Operator reports she avoided dangerous environments with significant Originium exposure risk, but living in such poor conditions for so long ultimately caused her infection to worsen.

Increase Trust to 50.Very extroverted, she gets along with everyone.
She is always looking to improve her lot in life, and follows trends closely. She is often seen chatting with Utage and Orchid.

Increase Trust to 100.But April's experience shows that not every company does provide such benefits. Or maybe because of a general revulsion for Infected people, the lower level functionaries of these companies may not have an interest in caring for them, no matter what policies the upper management may put in place to keep people working.
Whether April was forced out of Rim Billiton because her benefits weren't worth the paper they were printed on, or because a bad actor worked against her, we can't know. And it's clear she hasn't investigated it herself. Of course, it doesn't really matter, in the end. Even if it is the latter, it wouldn't be easy for April to go recover what is owed her, considering the situation of the Infected.

Increase Trust to 150.Rhodes Island dormitories have a very plain design, serving only to provide occupants with a basic standard of living. Most operators have no further interest in design. But the company does not have any regulations against operators making interior modifications, as long as they don't damage the landship. In fact, Rhodes Island encourages them to do just that, in hopes of improving their lives. So while most operators live in very plain surroundings, there are some with a lot of character, and April's are among the best.
Her room is exquisitely decorated. Posters, knick knacks, flower pots, and such all give the place a lively atmosphere, well-suited to her personality. We're very glad to see her adapting to and even loving life at Rhodes Island.
Archive File 4
Increase Trust to 200.The truth is obviously different. Sudden changes are always difficult to accept. One who does try to accept such changes should be commended for her open-mindedness. But we shouldn't condemn someone for failing to accept the drastic, sudden change that is Oripathy infection.
Not everyone would openly accept her identity as an Infected person, and every new Rhodes Island operator will receive psychological counseling about that identity to avoid excessive burdens and conflicts over the course of her work.
This is of particular concern for operators who come from civilian backgrounds like April, for whom discrimination against the Infected is deeply rooted. We must acknowledge the reality that some people, completely without malice, grow up in an environment that teaches them to dehumanize the Infected. And that these people, even if they become Infected themselves, do not see the Infected as peers. It is difficult to reverse that perception.
Luckily, April's cheerful disposition and open-minded personality did her well. While she had some ingrained discrimination against the Infected and some resultant self-loathing, she quickly shed these ideas thanks to our counseling and the general environment of life in Rhodes Island. She immediately began to think about how she could help others who also suffered like her. While she may not be that impressive in combat, April's outlook and thinking are worthy of emulation.
